Supposedly a radio manufacturing plant before the Chernobyl disaster, the plant has since been used for research, development and production of "item 62". At some point the staff and equipment were evacuated to Pripyat and the underground tunnel, the Pripyat Underpass, providing access to the city, was sealed off and filled with toxic gas.
